‘Dark Knight Rises’ gets Anne Hathaway to sharpen her claws!

Well as most of you have heard by now, Anne Hathaway has been booked to play Selina Kyle, AKA “Catwoman”. I know what you are thinking, I had the same thoughts. What? How? Why? Well, I had a couple of days to think it over and I wonder if maybe she is the right one for the role.

Remember when we all heard Heath Ledger was playing the Joker and the mixed thoughts about that? I am not saying that Anne will blow us away like Heath did, but maybe? Here is the thing about Christopher Nolan, he has a pretty good idea of what he needs to make his movies successful. He has also proven that he is not a one hit wonder director. Take a look at the movies he’s directed and the success that they have had. So take that into consideration and that he has two very popular Batman movies, I am going along with it.

Now let me get back to Anne and her future role, and keep in mind the type of mood and feel that Christopher Nolan has brought. Was I the only one that almost jumped out of my seat when the joker was playing around some dudes mouth with a knife? Will Anne have to push the limits with her character, and live up to what we as an audience have experienced with Christopher Nolan’s Batman? She is a versatile actor and I have to admit she has come a long way since ‘The other side of heaven’, especially with the types roles she has had over the years. Anne has proven that she can move around roles like a tough super spy or innocent princess.

Like I said earlier, I thought about it some more and I look forward to what is to come out of this. Yes I am sold on Christopher Nolan as a Director and the Batman Universe he created, and yes this is a character that I am sure many will enjoy seeing on the big screen again. Hopefully we will also get to see if lucious was right when he said “…it should do fine against cats”.

What do you think?

Love watching, talking and writing about movies i've watched. I want to help others sift through critic reviews, so you can watch a movie you may have missed out on because you were misled by a critic.
