San Andreas – Review

When thinking of “The Rock” we have to assume action and lots of it. Well this is no different for his latest movie San Andreas and this movie will not lack in action at all. The success that it had is well deserved and I think the reason why it did so well is because of his presence. He has this attitude about the characters he plays that works, very believable and it shows that he takes his time to make the character what it needs to be. He does action movies because he is an action star, He is a hard worker and takes his job seriously and we do get to see his acting skills as well.

rockI liked it because he shows another side of what he can do and I don’t mean just punching out the bad guy, but has emotions. I enjoyed this movie because I knew I was going into a disaster movie, I knew it would have action and over the top situations. The effects are some of the better ones that I have seen, they make good use of the theme of the movie which is a disaster, full of earthquakes, high rises being destroyed, huge water scenes and the suspense of will he make it in time to save his daughter.

The characters all worked well together and we even have some great relationships stories being told. They did a great job telling the story that fit the action and I was not disappointed by the result. Don’t go into this movie expecting real scenarios, even though I think they were trying to prove a lot of science. I don’t know how realistic a lot of it was, but they made it work for their movie and I had a blast. Take your kids and get your popcorn and just go to have fun. Live outside the real world and watch a movie of “what if” and enjoy the ride.

Love watching, talking and writing about movies i've watched. I want to help others sift through critic reviews, so you can watch a movie you may have missed out on because you were misled by a critic.
