If you are looking for a scare but don't want the gore. This movie will have you glued to your seat and will gladly have you forgo the snacks to not make a sound with those noisy wrappers. From start to finish you will hold your breathe just to make sure everyone comes out alive. Loved it and so will you.

9.5 Amazing!!!

The only concern I have with A Quiet Place movie review is the loud keyboard I use. The movie “a Quiet Place” does a great job bringing you into a silent world. Where the only way of surviving is to be completely void of sound. A Quiet Place directed by John Krasinski (Lee Abbott) also stars in the movie with his wife Emily Blunt (Evelyn Abbott). Take us on a start to finish, tense moment that has you holding your breathe to the very end. I love these kind of movies, where you can enjoy a fright and not have the gore or cliche shock values that most of these movies tend to have. The movie gives us a great depiction of what the world is like, by using news paper clippings, the way the family interacts, and how they have to accomplish day to day tasks in the most quiet way possible. We also get to meet some talented young actors in this movie to name a couple Millicent Simmonds (Regan Abbott) who is actually deaf in real life and Noah Jupe (Marcuas Abbott) plays her brother. The young actors did an incredible job portraying the fears and very believable acting help elevate the movie for me. When you have a strong cast especially on a movie where the speaking parts for the whole movie is on one page, you need great actors. Millicent Simmonds as I mentioned is deaf in real life and for her to be able to take the directors cue and sell us on what is going on around was fantastic.Let’s talk about Emily Blunt who plays Evelyn. Wow, talk about a performance. She can express her emotions in so many ways, watching her pull it off, you feel the pain. There is one scene that I believe we will hear about for a long time. I don’t want to spoil it, and I will leave it at that. Emily Blunt show us everything you need to know, just by looking at her face. Wow, wow, wow. Where and what she drew from to get there with her character during the scene, I don’t even want to know.Emliy blunt A quiet placeFinally we have John Krasinski starring, writing, executive producing and directing and just being the best at what he does. He calls this movie a love letter to his kids, you may think that is weird. After watching the movie you will understand what he means. He knows what the story needs and what the characters needed to do and get us hooked. What a bold move to make a movie where your dialogue is like one sentence. I am not kidding, he did some great things to tell a story of fear. He used sound as another character in this movie to help move it along. One thing I felt brought this movie down half a point. The length of time spent on establishing the world and how they live. It could have been a little shorter, we understood the setting pretty fast. Aside from that John delivered an amazing movie and will be in my top ten of the year. Not sure where, but right now it is the top 5 spot for sure. Go see this movie tell me what you think and remember. If you get nothing else from a Quiet Place just don’t say a word.

Love watching, talking and writing about movies i've watched. I want to help others sift through critic reviews, so you can watch a movie you may have missed out on because you were misled by a critic.
